FOUR-DAY EVENT IN OLD TOWN SPOTLIGHTS WELLNESS
Wellness/Beauty/Comedy Businesses Offering Seminars, Screenings and Special “Live Well” Discounts

(Chicago, IL) – Twenty-one different wellness businesses in Chicago’s historic Old Town neighborhood will be collaborating Thursday, April 26 through Sunday, April 29 to offer an entertaining and informative series of promotions and events. The neighborhood wide collaboration will feature helpful medical screenings, chiropractic services, health lectures, and beauty seminars. Classic Old Town comedy from Second City and Zanies will be featured nightly. Laughter is, after all, the best medicine.

Following up on last month’s successful Shop Wells event, the many wellness businesses of Old Town are combining their efforts for Live Well – a four-day experience during which attendees can participate in educational events and receive special pricing on everything from manicures to seats in a classic comedy club. The April 26th – April 29th event is the second of several scheduled LIVING OLD TOWN 2012 events highlighting the district’s unique and varied shops, services, restaurants/bars and entertainment venues.

The participants include: A Women’s Gym (1248 N. Wells), Accelerated Rehabilitation Centers (1640 N. Wells), Animal Sense (1407 N. Wells), Arbre Nail Salon (1244 N. Wells), Avanti Skin Centers (409 W. North), Cadella Medical Spa & Wellness Center (1521 N. Sedgwick), Chiro One Wellness Center (1522 N. Halsted), Chiropractic Chicago (407 W. North), Compagnia della Bellezza (1500 N. Wells), Elite Nails Spa (217 W. North), Eye Do Optical @ Nierman Vision Center (243 W. North), 1st Family Dental (206 W. Division), Fitness Formula Club of Old Town (1235 N. LaSalle), J.C. Lind Bike Co. (1311 N. Wells), Occhiali Eyeglasses (1640 N. Wells), Old Town Boutique (1500 N. Wells), Swerve Salon (1419 N. Wells), and Tousle Salon (1445 N. Wells). Participating Old Town theatres include The Second City (1616 N. Wells) and Zanies Comedy Club (1548 N. Wells). Each participating venue will feature exclusive customer experiences and incentives. “This serves as a great way to showcase the Old Town neighborhood and all of its unique businesses,” said Maria Paonessa, owner of Compagnia della Bellezza. “It will be a very pressure-free, easygoing introduction to wellness businesses in Old Town and our friendly, familiar atmosphere.”

LIVING OLD TOWN 2012 is planned as a year-long neighborhood business series. Additional health-focused dates are scheduled for October. Planning for this event is done through the office of the Old Town Merchants and Residents Association, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the historic Old Town neighborhood and improving the quality of life for its residents.
