OLD TOWN BOUTIQUES COORDINATE FASHION PROMOTION IN EARLY MARCH
Trunk Shows, Fashion Tips and Apparel Debuts Slated for All-Day Event

(Chicago, IL) – Seven different fashion, apparel and accessory shops in Chicago’s historic Old Town neighborhood will be collaborating on Saturday, March 3 from 11am to 4 pm for an entertaining day-long fashion showcase. The free start-of-spring event will feature trunk shows, new apparel lines, kick-off parties and neighborhood-wide promotions.

Following up on winter’s successful city-wide “Unwrap Chicago” initiative, the shops of Old Town are once again working together to promote the neighborhood and its many cool, quirky businesses. The March 3rd event is the first of several LIVING OLD TOWN 2012 events highlighting the district’s unique and varied shops, restaurants/bars and entertainment venues.

Participating merchants include: Adelaide (1704 N. Wells), cityblue apparel & denim (1444 N. Wells), Fleet Feet Sports (1620 N. Wells), Handle With Care (1796 N. Wells), Mercy Beaucoup (1545 N. Wells) Nicole Miller (1419 N. Wells) and Sara Jane (1343 N. Wells). Each venue will feature exclusive customer experiences and incentives.

“This serves as a great way to showcase the Old Town neighborhood and all of its unique boutiques,” said Sara Plocker, owner of Sara Jane apparel and accessories. “It will be a very pressure-free, easygoing introduction to our shops and our friendly, helpful staff.”

LIVING OLD TOWN 2012 is planned as a year-long neighborhood business series. Additional retail-focused dates are tentatively scheduled in July and November. Planning for this event is done through the office of the Old Town Merchants and Residents Association, a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the historic Old Town neighborhood and improving the quality of life for its residents.
